This move will introduce you to the Split Grip! Pay attention to the positioning of the lower hand and fingers. Remember to engage those shoulders, no hanging from your arms and NO JUMPING! BREATH!!!!

Chwenny - I keep pulling and straining my hip flexors when I extend my legs open and hold for one full round on spin mode. How can I strengthen them and prevent this injury? Thx!

StudioVeena - Yes, you want to both strengthen and stretch the quads and hip flexors. There are lessons for both in the Stretching and Conditioning lessons. StudioVeena - Make sure you have the top arm placed low enough so you can use the bicep to help hold you up. Don't jump! Use the arms to hold you as you lift up resting the upper thigh on the pole.

StudioVeena - I think you hook the back of the heel during the Apprentice... There are AKA names listed in the description. I would have to look into what the apprentice is to know for sure :)

sparrow - ok, they look very similar. i asked in another thread, because I'm trying to figure it out and i *thought* i saw once that it's AKA open leg jamilla, but I think you're right that there's a hooked heel.
