Flexibility for gain. Today you’ll be working on exercises and stretches that will help improve leg lines!
Begin with the Lower body routine, then move on to the Middle splits routine.
I got my regular splits back finally!! Not quite my middle yet, but so close. Hope i didnt over do it though i pushed my limits hard today. Loving this 30 days to flexy
Yay!!!!!
Yeay to this programme, seeing so much progress flexibility wise! In the flowmotion routine a couple of days ago, during the sitting v exercise I actually got my elbow to the floor, that’s big for me! So excited that I’m only just posting! 😊
Today was Day 16 for me, and the middle splits routine is one of my faves!
Is it okay if this second time around I need to take more breaks between days due to lack of time?
Sure!
For pole leg waves – I can’t walk myself into the pole on my arms – any suggestions ?
Instead of using the pole try placing the hands under the hips like this https://studioveena1.wpengine.com/lessons/view/5fd95ad0-be28-4015-8a28-5083ac110005 but using 2 hands under the hip/butt instead of one.
Loving this challenge, Veena, thank you! When doing the sitting V stretch, is it normal to feel the stretch on the back of the knees instead of on the hamstrings/upper part of the back thigh?
Yep!
Middle Splits -that was good but like so many flexibility training routines the focus was on the advanced student rather than on the beginner. The stock statement ‘only goes as far as your body allows ‘ followed by some extra demonstration of advanced moves leaves the. beginner without demonstration or instruction while the advanced learner is well catered for . This is a pervasive issue that I have noticed with flexibility training and one 99 percent of flexibility teachers seem unaware of as they have forgotten what it is like to be a beginner . They are pretty sure that they are good teachers but they forget that beginners need instruction with demonstration not just a simple statement of ‘ only go as far as your body allows ‘
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m in the process of re-doing all of my flexibility lessons. These are still the original from back in the day. However, I’m just one person, most websites or apps have many people working on them. I do all the planning, study what’s new and safe, film, edit and do all of the marketing as well. I have 4 kids, 2 dogs, do all of the cooking, cleaning, shopping and home management. After having an unexpected move this yr, and battle with depression that I’ve come out of, remaking these has not happened as soon as I wanted. Something to be aware of, making a stretch “look” less flexible wont make you become more flexible. I still feel my content is some of the best you can find.
I agree that your content is the best out there . I am a learner who gives positive and negative feedback as that’s how I train my students and that’s how they in turn improve my teaching and practice . I have learned a lot from my students , some of it was stuff I was delighted to hear and some was not but it all helped me grow
You are a great teacher and your instruction is well ahead of the completion . I am sure your new material will be wonderful but remember you don’t have to be perfect
There will always be the critical student like me that can be challenging to teach but the very fact such students are in your class by choice says alot about the quality of your teaching
I wasn’t even close to the ground in that middle split…looking forward to improving! My body does feel good after this lesson!
Make sure to take pics or video so you can look back to see small improvements!
