I feel my Caterpillar and Caterpillar climb tutorials are excellent but I try to accommodate as many learning styles as possible so this video might be a better fit for some of you.

This video cover more tricks to using the Forearm grip for caterpillar and ayesha.

In this video I’ll discuss a few common issues. You’ll learn a bit more about the difference between the elbow and forearm grip too. Don’t forget to check out my 30 day Caterpillar program to help you achieve the perfect Caterpillar.

Responses

  1. This really helps me understand why I feel unstable and awkward when working on Caterpillar. I have long limbs which puts my booty far away from the pole and I feel so scared of falling on my head! Thanks Veena, I will try to focus on pulling to the side and getting into the forearm grip better:)

  2. Yes, thank you! I’m just at the point where I need to learn this. Perfect timing on your new training program for me! This is the best and most informative video on caterpillar that I’ve seen. Thanks Veena! 💗 I’m looking forward to training and nailing this!!!

  3. I have never heard of the moving to the side thing: lightbulb moment. I was trying to stay square and it was/is almost impossible; I just cannot get an elbow hold this way! I am excited to keep trying now whereas before I hated even trying ❤️💚💚❤️ Thank you!

  4. You’re a freaking genius! As soon as I said to myself I need to see it from a different angle so I can see where her face is, you turned and did it that way.

You’re an inspiration for fellow instructors, Veena!!!

  5. This video is amazing! Question: I am having trouble with my Butterfly (split grip). I can do it, but I don’t feel very stable. Should I start a little sideways, from the top of the caterpillar with the body to the side? Would that help to get the right body placement for Butterfly? Thanks!

  6. What works for someone can differ, so it could be practiced by trying to fight up from a sideways position but what I prefer to have people do is focus on strengthening their caterpillars. This will help because you’ll set yourself up perfectly for Butterfly then.

  7. Oooh! So disappointed I didn’t see this earlier! This is just what I needed! I was having trouble understanding the forearm/elbow grip but I’m super excited to try this again with these new tips. 🙂

  8. So I can do up to Step 4. Just can’t seem to get my butt up to complete this. 🙁 If Veena or anyone else has additional tips to help me complete a Caterpillar, please let me know! (I am currently taking Veena’s 30 Day Caterpillar series. 🙂❤️)
