hmm, good point, are you sitting all of your weight on the pole? maybe you could try sitting on it, but with one leg crossed over the other to give yourself a better grip, while holding on with your hands as well…..im sure you’re not driving your teacher crazy! don’t worry one bit about that, everyone learns at different paces! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

are you sweaty? You could try putting some rosin or tite grip/dry hands (both are deoderants for the hands) on the inside of your thighs. I know If I’m a bit sweaty b/n the thighs then it’s hard for me to grip. Is your pole warmed up before you try sitting on it? If your pole and body are warmed up and you’re not sweaty then it might just be that you aren’t squeezing your thighs together hard enough…I dunno, but I hope you figure it out…

Oh…how high up the thigh do you have the pole situated? Lower, middle or upper thigh?? I have found pole sits to be MUCH easier the further up the thigh you have the pole…just be careful!:)

maybe you should post a vid so we can see exactly what happens! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Heh, I’m sure you’re not driving your teaching nuts. She’s probably a bit bukmmed she can’t help you out with it more. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

As someone else said, maybe try gripping the pole higher up your thigh? You could practice this at home, even.

I think the pain goes away after a while… and your skin gets tougher. It still kinda hurts me but it is MUCH better now than when I started. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_smurfin.gif

I was hoping not to use an aid to stick as at some point im gona have to be able to stick with out ’em.
More homework i guess is needed.

If slippage is the problem, when my pole gets really slippy I firstly clean it with Rubbing Alcohol and then wipe it down with a towel afterwards, and also you can (I have the rubbing alcohol towelettes) rub a bit on your inner thighs and then wipe it off with a towel. It helps immensely.
When youre sitting make sure your gripping tight with your thighs, get your "bits" as close the pole as you comfortably can, and it also helps to grip the pole with your bottom legs foot (when your cross legged sitting) so that the front of your ankle is on the back of the pole.

    Good luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
