..They should be pretty worn in considering they’re in a club- but I’d bring a grip aid anyways…

Compared to brass, stainless can be… very very slippery. but well used stainless shouldn’t be too much of an issue!

My guess is that its going to be about the same because your brass is used with only you on it and at the club, there will be multiple people on it; stainless steel warms up quickly and I think you’ll notice that its grippy at the club.

I have a stainless steel pole at home but I’m the only one who dances on it (and even then it is only every other day for 40 minutes). Everyone keeps telling me how grippy a broken-in ss pole is but I have yet to experience that. I would think that at a club where you have multiple dancers on the poles for most of every day/night/both they would get broken in super fast. I’d be worried if they have A.C. or not… Grippy or not I wouldn’t be able to dance once I got all sweaty.

I have entered a competition at a local club with a stainless steel pole – pole was slippery. I’m use to dancing on chrome, but my first pole was stainless and I go up to a dance club about once a month with my girls. That club also has stainless steel poles that are slippery. I never noticed the first pole I had get any grippier with time either. My grip my have gotten a little better, but the pole was still slick. I would recommend taking a grip aid. Not only is it a finish you are not use to, but you will probably get nervous and therefor sweaty.

Also, did you ask if the pole spins or is stationary? You’ll want to be practicing in the same mode.

    Good luck!

When I danced in clubs, I was used to a brass pole. When I bought my first x-pole, I had a used 50mm Chrome. I felt like there was a huge difference in the grip.
