Tips For The New Video Platform
While most of you have had no trouble with our new video platform, there have been a couple issues. These issues relate to the very small percentage of you using IE6 or a very old version of Flash.
Internet Explorer 6 is a very old browser. Microsoft no longer supports it and many major sites will be dropping support for it this year including one of the biggest, YouTube. If you are running IE6 you may encounter javascript problems and our nifty new navigation within the video section may not work for you. You can fix this problem by either upgrading to Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 or by switching browsers completely to something such as FireFox or Google Chrome found at http://www.firefox.com and http://www.google.com/chrome respectively.
Secondly a couple others have reported not being able to see the new video format. This means you need to upgrade your flash which you can do by visiting http://www.flash.com. We have switched video formats to allow for higher quality and an eventual shift to mobile platforms. Usually those of you with a version of flash that is this old are also the ones running IE6 since newer versions of flash have been bundled with the browser for ten years, so simply updating to a newer browser as described above will also fix this problem.
I hope this helps and if you have any problems that the above solutions do not fix please don’t hesitate to write me.
