I am going to buy an XPole but I do not know what size I should get, I currently have the flirty girl pole and I hate it because it comes loose far to easily.

I have the 45 mm (x pole) I never used a 50 mm, but I think it’s to big for my small hands. My old dance pole was 42 mm. That was a better size for my hands. I had more grip.

I have a 50mm X-Pole. I wanted the 50mm as it is seemingly the standard size, thus you are more likely to cross paths with this size in classes and in the world. It is a pole of sheer bliss.

I used a 50mm. you get used to it. I’ve been on a 45mm and It was faster to spin and grip with. but I couldent hang on with my thighs for climbs. i’m sure if I practiced on it I could. But I already got used to 50mm.

I’m short and compact in size plus have little hands, so I use our 1.75 size Dance pole instead of our 2 Inch Out Side Diameter. I love my smaller 1.75, one thing I will say is that I have both sizes in my studio so ladies who struggle with the 2 Inch don’t seem to half as mush with this one.

My hubby made my pole but it is the equivelent to a 45mm 1 3/4 inch. I went for the smaller size because I am very little! lol Being 5’2 and about 104lbs needless to say my hands are tiny. I tried one of my girlfriends pole and she must have the 50 but even that quarter inch makes it seem huge! I could use it but had a little difficulty with my grip and strength with inverts like butterfly because I felt like I couldn’t get a good enough grip but could probably get used to it. but I love my smaller size its perfect for my hands, sometimes bigger is’nt better LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I had started off with a cheap peek a boo pole which was 50mm. I just got my xpole this week and I got the 50mm Chrome X-pole. Not sure about others, this seems perfect for my hands. I love it. Best of luck hun! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rendeer.gif

I’ve found that very few women have such small hands to make it impossible for them to use the 50mm/2 inch pole.

As mentioned the smaller pole may be more difficult for the leg holds. While it seems that many who use the smaller poles exclusively adapt to the size, it seems that learning to grip with the hands on a larger pole is easier to adapt to than learning to grip with the legs on a smaller pole.

So I just took my first pole class in portland oregon and the studio had both 45mm and 50mm poles I tired them both out. It seemed like the small pole was easier to spin but harder to climb. I need to get a pole and am torn on which size to go with. It seems like most of you like the 50mm.

Dezadera…Do you ever think you’ll want to compete or dance at other studios or clubs?? If so then get the 50mm. Yes, the USPDF is using 45mm but for the most part most poles are still the 50mm. Remember its easier to move from larger to smaller not the other way around. Hope that helps. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
