One of my pole tutors got pregnant and she stopped inverting as soon as she found out. Veena is the lady to ask tho https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

If your new to pole dance then backing off it a good idea. You can still do some floorwork and fun transitions and you can still have fun with it, just dance! Here is a good example of dancing with your pole without all the tricks.

Now if your not a beginner and your very comfy in your abilities, here are my guide lines, I used for my pregnancy.

With ANY exercise while preggers, be sure you don’t over heat, and don’t raise your heart level too high. Drink lots of water. Listen to your body.

1st Trimester…continue with moves you know but don’t work on new ones. Stick with what you have down and work on perfecting it.

2nd Trimester…No more inverts or climbs. Spins are fine if your joints don’t mind. if your a seasoned dancer it shouldn’t be a problem, but everyone is different.

3rd Trimester…This is a good time to work on dancing with soft hands, pointed toes (watch out for leg cramps tho) and hip rolls and enjoying your new sexy body. Most spins will be out..I was able to adjust mine, I found that by keeping my thighs pointing down, and not bringing them up to my waist for spins like the chair I could still do them and they were not a stain on my Abs. Here is an example of that…you can see I don’t do many spins at all and I keep my knees low.

With ANY exercise you have to talk with your DR first and make sure your fit to exercise while pregnant. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_r.gif LOL

SO exciting Polebunny – such wonderful times ahead!

I’m just shy of 5 months along right now and am still poling and LOVING it! I have basically been treasuring Veena’s advice on the subject and being open with my midwife about my activity level, and really listening to my body. I stopped inverting a little earlier at about 3 months because it just didn’t feel right…..I’m glad I listened to myself because I just found out today I’m pregnant with TWINS! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

Climbs have actually still felt okay for me….but I can tell it’s about time to stop. I actually just posted a dance video the other day, I knew it was about time to slow down on spins and climbing so I’m glad I got it out when I did!

Best of luck to you!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I stoped dancing at 3mos. My body could not take it. There are few pics from holloween last yr me preggo on the pole ( I went as a preggo Hooters Waitress). I know KT had a progression of her pole while preggo on her FB page. I know I was wiped out and couldnt handle what I normally do. After birth I was kicking myself for not staying active the entire time. I gained 80lbs but I gave birth to an 11lb boy. I felt like I was carrying twins. I was miserable and kept watching lots of youtube videos to keep me inspired for when the dr’s ok me.

Lily – congrats on the Twins! Double the fun!

Thank you…omg I am FREAKING out right now, it was such a shock! I actually have not been able to talk to my midwife yet, I have been planning a home birth and am trying not to feel disappointed that it probably won’t happen now…..I just don’t know, I will of course do whatever they tell me I need to for the babies. They are both measuring perfectly and are healthy and strong, as am I, and I have an excellent record with normal natural birth so even if it ends up being in a hospital I want my midwife there and want to keep it active and intervention-free. My main concern with twins is that I understand they usually come early on their own or are induced early……if it’s before 34 I’ll have no choice but to be in a hospital but if my midwife and the OB I’m assuming I’ll have to start seeing now are both okay with me delivering at home that would be so ideal!

ive had a few friends where the babies came at the 39w scheduled csection. Ive also had a friend who delivered twins vaginaly as well. They may come early, they may not depends if they are ready (my kids never were, cant blame them! lol)

OMG https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif TWINS!!!! That’s incredible, congrats!! I watched your preggers vid the other day and it was absolutely beautiful! Pregnancy looks fantastic on you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif. I have 2 little boys and hubby and I are wanting one more but it’s been hard for me to get to that point again of wanting to go through it all again. I feel really sick throughout my ENTIRE pregnancy and (maybe this is selfish) but I don’t want to go through all the body changes again! LOL Anyway, this is very good info for when/if we decide to make a go of it again.

    Wow congratulations!
I imagine twins is a bit different on the body than just one. I poled until about 6 months and that was a good time for me. Good luck with the home birth. I had both of mine at home and it was an amazing experience, to just be surrounded by all things known.
(Of course the actual birthing process is not fun, but, eh, I guess you got get through it either way!)
    good luck to you,
    s
