watching videos
i can not watch vids on this site anymore they keep freezing. have loaded firefox and still they stick. want to sign up for lessons but cant untill i get the vids to run. can watch u tube vids ok so dont know whats happening. i’m not technically minded or computer savvy but i hope you can help

I was just about to make a post about this!!! I have had a video loading for 24 mins and its only at 23 SECONDS so far!!! What the hell is going on! Ive tried on Internet Explorer AND firefox! Please help someone!

I love this site but I also have had problems with the vids; particularly when I have tried to upload direct to the site. Is it faster to share a vid that is already posted on Youtubethan to upload at this site? I’d like to have input and share my progress here…any helpful suggestions?Alex

I havent really been on here since thanksgiving. That’s bad! Anyways, what is up with the vids i am watching keep freezing and buffering? It is annoying.. I was trying to catch up on all the videos i’ve missed since a few weeks ago. Is this doing this to anyone else???

Have you all tried choosing, the High, Medium, or Low options on the videos??? They are just buttons you click on changing the quality for you if your computer can’t handle high resolution video. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumright.gif

Thanks, I’ll select a lower res to watch vids; and check in with the Webmaster if I encounter any more problems trying to upload mine to the site.

i cant find where these options are.Where can i find these buttons for high, med, and low??
videos freeze up on me too 🙁

Maybe the better solution will be to add a buffering to the videos (like on youtube, that if you have a low conection, you paused and it buffer all the video and can see it without freezing) But i know it would be hard, because needs to change the video playing engine on the web 🙁

The high medium and low options have dissappeared since we've changed streaming technologies. Our current streaming rate pumps out a higher quality video than our preious "high" setting using less bandwidth than our previous "low" setting.
The buffering option is only possible using pseudo-http streaming and not RTMP like we do. The major difference between the two technologies from your perspective will be that RTMP makes it much harder to steal video which is much more of a concern for our user's videos.

but pretty much makes it impossible for those of us without super high speed internet to watch any vids from this site including lessons.

@nymphdancer – That is incorrect if your internet connection can maintain a constant connection speed of 1Mbps or higher you can watch the videos just fine. This is not a super-fast connection and for the purposes of broadband saturation reports is not usually even considered "broadband" internet any more.

all I know is I CAN NOT watch vids from this site or youtube without them being jerky and start and stop. I have the only internet that doesn't cost 80+ a month to have which is a USB wireless thing from Virgin Mobile. Nothing else is available other then dial up where I live unless I want to pay hughesnet 400+ for equipment and 80 a month. I'm on a list where I have been for several years to get DSL but there are only 5 ports availble within this area and for me to get one one of my neighbors has to give theirs up. And yes I know it is because I live in the country, sorry not moving closer to the city and giving up my farm to be able to watch vids here.

@nymphdancer – I would not suggest getting HughesNET as I have had experience with them and while they advertise connection rates that look fast their latency actually reduces overall internet speeds to that of dial up in most cases.
I empathize with you, we live in the country as well and broadband Internet is not cheap, and the dial-up internet is nearly intolerable as far as speed. Please don't assert however that superfast internet is required as it confuses potential users.

I don't have dial up anymore. I use a wireless usb thing. It works fine for everything else but vids on this site. But each person needs to a try for themselves, just like pole finishes 😉
