In the midst of taking a two day long break from poling (the HORROR) to give my wrists a break I rolled my left ankle walking on flat ground in a pair of vans. (Yeah, I know, I can nearly run in my 7 inch glitter platforms. the irony.) I thought Id just "walk it off" over the course of the night (seemed like a good idea at the time)but I woke up this morning with a giant egg where my ankle bone should have been and have been hobbling around like a gimpy street pigeon ever since. SO, that will be keeping me off the pole for a few more days. In the meantime I thought I might as well work on strengthening my wrists because at this point Im SURE it will be my next injury if Im not careful.

What could I do to make them stronger and less likely to be hurt? It seems nearly everything you do on the pole requires weight on your wrists. Im dying to keep working on the caterpillar crawl and eventually some extended arm hold but tired wrists always stop me before the rest of me does! I do Veena’s wrist weight exercises but perhaps you all have some other things you do?
