Is your Lappie running Windows 7 or (shudders) Vista?
WMM should have been an automatic with a windows operating system.

Bite the bullet, get Sony Vegas. WMM should be scrapped, it’s an irritating response to iMovie.
Vegas can be found for free as a trial or can be purchased for under $60USD.

Unless you have purchased a Mac, WMM will not ever work on a Mac. But you’ve got iMovie!
Vegas will compress and do everything you want it to do.

Also watch your security packs /updates; we got a Mac OS update that started crashing Maya (3d animation software, not cheap). turned out the new update caused problems, when we regressed, it fixed itself.
Crashes occurred 2 days before we were doing a huge performance where the animations were crucial…
3 calls to Singapore, Toronto and Australia later, we got it sorted.

So check your OS, look at the updates and then purchase Vegas. It’s a great product if you have Windows. Heaps of films are edited on it and it’s fine at domestic level.

We use Final Cut at home for editing and outputting / compositing, but that’s Mac product and very nice.
    Veena uses it now too.

Good luck with getting your vid’s up.

Like the other response said, you should already have WMM if you have Windows of any sort. I can’t for the life of me ever find it when I go through Start > Programs > etc but if you do a "search" of your computer for "Windows Movie Maker" it should most definitely come up. I hope that helps.

It’s true that you "get what you pay for" with WMM, but if you want to just show your videos the way you recorded them then there’s no need to spend money on more powerful software (the advantages for a casual user are small and the money is better spent on shoes imo). You can also do some minor editing with WMM so if you have no problem keeping it simple then you’re good to go.

same issue i recorded my pole practice clip on my droid phone. i tried to load it and it would process but wouldn’t play the video just kept showing some kind of loading symbol on the video and it didn’t show the vid either just showed a black box. I looked to see if it was on my page, and nope. i tried 5 times alternating between two computers so not happening. so im going to be getting a camera for christmas, hopefully i will have a vid posted by then. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
