I got a new gig that is coming up this Friday. Its a burlesque show at a very gothic-y club called Ground Zero in NE Minneapolis (veena, you may know the one). This is the first time pole dancing will be introduced to the troupe and show, so the lady in charge wants it to be perfect. She told me I can use whatever music I want and dance passionately to. I will do 2 songs, length doesn’t really matter, but I’m shooting for at least 4.5 min +. I would like to try to keep it in the burlesque style. Jellycat had turned me onto Kerli a while back and I think that might work for one song, but anybody else have suggestions that would work? I may use Breathe Me by Sia on spin mode as a 2nd resort, but that is kind of a "pretty" song for there.
Sooo if anybody has ideas, I’d greatly appreciate them!

I’m thinking something by Emilie Autumn (?). That would probably go over well and her stuff is VERY passionate!

I definitely agree with Emilie Autumn for gothic feel – her music could be described as Industrial Victorian…

Another good one to look into is Dresden Dolls / Amanda Palmer– she calls her music "Punk Cabaret" which will fit into the burlesque side as well.

    Hi
Thanks for all your input. I used Maggot Brain for the show last night. But I’m also looking at possibily performing at another show hopefully soon if I hear back from them.
Those are all really good songs, I appreciate the help!
