Ok so after having an excellent lesson at my pole dancing class last night I felt motivated to jump on my own pole at home and work on what I’ve learnt.

But for some odd reason I couldn’t pull off any of the moves in the privacy of my home, yet last night I had no problems whatsoever.

Another frustration is that I managed to climb the pole fully last night, had a good grip and everything, yet on my X pole I kept slipping and losing my grip (I wiped down the pole and everything). I still have yet to master the pole sit – I am holding on for dear life with my thighs yet there is no grip – nothing!

What is going on?! I’m starting to think buying my pole was a bad idea https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Question: Does humidty play a part i.e pole is more sticky? My pole is extremely cold…could that be the problem?

Cold pole = less grip. Do a bunch of spins and climbs and such to warm up the pole then try your holds.

I’ve been having this problem, too – it’s been in the single digits here in NY and I have no grip whatsoever. Very frustrating, I know! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

The temp plays a part. I was at a pole jam on Thursday at a studio and had no problems at all but tonight when I practiced at home on my xpole I had absolutely not grip even though my pole wasn’t hold.

Seems like when ever the temps here drop below freezing I have this problem.
