Sally-Ann Giles – great flow and transitions
Posted by miss fern on February 4, 2010 at 2:16 amHey everyone!
Just saw this vid and thought it was a good example of incoporating ‘traditional dance’ into pole dance – and making even the big tricks etc flow into the routine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8k_IvzZleo&feature=rec-LGOUT-exp_fresh+div-1r-3-HM

Not sure what you mean by "traditional dance", but loved this!! Her energy and musicality is brilliant!
One of those dancers whose fun spirit just shines through!! -
By traditional dance I meant jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, salsa — anything like that, that is recognised globally as a specific dance style.
So what I was trying to say was, she actually "dances" (in that sense of the word) around and with and on the pole, rather than just finding graceful ways between tricks. Which I like to see! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

That was brilliant! I love it when you can tell a dancer just absolutely LOVES what they’re doing, and they invite the audience into their world of passion for it as well! As far as enjoyability goes for me, I’d much rather watch a girl who exudes passion and joy in what she does and maybe doesn’t nail it on the precision side then to watch a girl who’s textbook but lacks feeling and passion in her performance.
She was awesome, and I enjoyed every minute of watching her. That’s what I’m talking about! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
Sally is the type of dancer that you find yourself smiling as you watch her perform! She is just incredible! I love her style and she is so flipping strong!!!

I have one of Sally-Anne’s performances posted here under my videos. Take a look!
You are right, her fire and wicked sense of humor (butt cheek winks anyone??) come shining through. She is very humble and kind and I hope she comes back to the US for another workshop soon!
