So, I’ve seen lots of sillhouettes people have made using their own poling pictures. Was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make these, as they look great! Might be a good way to finally put a pole pic up on facebook, looks more ‘artsy’ this way https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

(Or feel free to direct me to a previous thread if it’s been discussed, although I couldn’t find any)

    Thanks!

Thanks Veronika, but I think this site is for people who have photoshop, and I don’t have that software unfortunately!

You can download trial versions of Photoshop from the Adobe website. They last for 30 days. Can download it and try it if you want.

GIMP is another program that works very similarly to Photoshop, except it’s open-source software and it’s completely free. You can also Google for tutorials on how to use it, there are a ton of them.

Here is a list of a 11 pieces of software, some are windows only some are linux only, a couple of them are only online but you’ll find something here that’ll work for you.

You might also dig around online to see if someone has created an online service to do this for free or close to free.

Thanks Foxy, I actually downloaded GIMP, but I will look for tutorials, as I haven’t really figured it out yet, thanks!

Thanks Webmaster, I’ll have a look at those https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Audball – you shouldn’t have any problems finding tutorials. The people that make open-source programs are firm believers that all software should be free and readily available for everyone, including information on how to use those programs and even giving you choices to fit your needs. It’s actually the entire premise behind Linux, and is why I prefer it to Windows. (I can never resist a chance to promote Linux… Windows sucks)

Webmaster – I officially love you. I’m not overly fond of GIMP and still prefer Photoshop (nothing against GIMP, it’s still a good program) but since I’m running Ubuntu exclusively now, I can’t get Photoshop. But that link you gave is great! Yay! Now I just need to find video editing software…
