I’d love to be able to start working on the switch from scorpio with one leg to the other, where you have to flip your body around, but I’m not sure how to begin working on this… I’m kind of afraid to jump up on the pole and do it. I guess I could just get my boyfriend to spot me while I slowly try to work it out. I wish Veena had a lesson for this! Does anyone have any suggestions?

Veena did do a video on this, just not a "lesson":

you should have a secure no-handed scorpio, and a secure no-handed thigh hold, before you start doing this.

then it’s actually pretty easy: from a scorpio, bring your back leg around until you are in thigh hold. switch your armpit grip to the other side of your torso, and once that is secure, switch legs.

Lol I put lesson in quotes because it is a how-to but it’s not one of the formal lessons that you have to pay for https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Hooray!!! Yeah I won’t try it til I am sure about the thigh hold and scorpio but as of right now they are both no-handed comfortably… so… maybe soon! Thanks all!

Oh yes, I know, I can do it on my non-dominant side but it’s not very secure yet, so I will be working on that!

I learned it from Veena’s how to. I started on my non-dominant side so when you "fall" it’s to the dominant side. Also I figured out that you don’t have to start from the floor. So if you want to work it into a dance and you are already inverted, put your belly against the pole, then move your left (for me) shoulder in front of the pole, and drop one leg and you are in a scorpio. This is nice since this move takes a lot of pole space. This way you can be further up that from a traditional standing invert.
    It’s a fun move. I love it.

This is one that I’m going to work on soon. My right leg scorpio is still shaky though. I practiced the swtch at studio the other day and got it once but slid quickly down the pole the second time. Good thing I had a mat. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif
