I’ve been in this back to basics phase recently, and one of the things I want to be better is the way I stand up from the floor. The basic method I use is on knees, get on the ball of one foot, get on ball of other foot – legs probably apart, raise booty up keeping head down, hair toss. It’s an ok method, but I don’t think it is very graceful sometimes. I’ve seen Alethea (I think) do it with her hands in the air, and that looks better to me, but I can’t quite get the balance of it.

What are your favorite ways of getting up from the floor? I’ll also occasionally do a cradle spin from crouching.

    THANKS!!

From kneeling near the pole, grabbing head height and spin up. Kind of a mutant cradle / crouched corkscrew deal.
Pushing up to Straddling back to pole, grabbing between legs and hair flip up.
    Shoulder mount from the floor.
Rolling over each toe andReverse bow-leg, butt-out, slow up.
From laying down, sliding up into elbow stand and flip up.
From sitting, rolling back into shoulder stand/reverse elbow stand and ckr/car up.

This makes me want to do a "get off the flo’" vid haha.  It’s just so hard to describe

The first variation that Poledanceromance mentioned we call "Spin ups". Like the cradle, you can do variations of the fireman and the boomerang spins up on tthe pole by swining your lead leg back and sweeping it forward for momentum as you pull yourself up.

You can also do a pirouette to standing. Facing the pole on your knees, place your hands in a standard split baseball grip. Presuming your R hand is your upper hand, bring the left foot forward to stand to the right side of the pole. Now use your lower hand to push and do a pirouette under your right arm as you pull you back/right leg behind you.

You sort of pirouette under your right arm into a crouch then raise your hips behind you as you stand.

You can also place your hands on the floor in front of you and just pop up onto your feet…I think this looks better when you have one leg stretched out further to once side.

Alethea does a cute rise here at about 36 seconds:
