Alright guys! I’m working my first party in 2 weeks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif , but I’m not quite sure how to structure my show. It’s just a house party where I’ll just be entertainment off to the side, not the main show (sort of like a bar), and I plan to take breaks for private lap dances. I’m sure even when performers aren’t giving private dances, they take breaks periodically. So what’s a good amount of time to be dancing on the pole before a break? How many “sets” would you typically do in a night? I’m concerned about several things:

    1) Getting tired
    2) Repeating the same moves over and over again (just one song feels like forever when you’re dancing!)
    3) If I go through too many songs on my “pole playlist” this time, what will I do for future shows? (This should be a bi-monthly thing.)

It would be great to hear from other people who perform! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif (Either at bar or parties or whatnot)

    1) Getting tired
I used to be like that. I noticed if I upped my cardio I did not get wiped out quickly. I did 3 performances in one night and I was tired but not pooped.

    2) Repeating the same moves over and over again (just one song feels like forever when you’re dancing!)
If I draw a blank I just do floorwork until something comes to me
    3) If I go through too many songs on my “pole playlist” this time, what will I do for future shows? (This should be a bi-monthly thing.)
how long is your playlist? Mine is about an hour but you can always take breaks.

i work in a bar where i get to dance on the pole. The music thing isn’t an issue as I kinda have to dance to whatever there playing. I practically found it impossible when they were doing a hip hop night but i just did my thing.

I usually dance to a couple of songs, maybe three or four depending on the length of the songs. Then come off for a breather and plenty of water!!

I find when I start to feel I am getting tired I will just fill in moves with turns and pirohettes, also… someone told me that people like to take the time to look at woman’s body, so I will to just do a little pose stood by the pole, catch my breath then move on. Hair flips cool me down, and gets the hair out of my face too. Body waves as well, just little moves that don’t take it out of u but are super sexy.

As for repeating moves, I try a change my spins.. maybe do a one spin to another. Like carousel to reverse grab… then next time if i can only think of a carousel… do a carousel to a chair.

Hope it helps, i really have no clue what I am doing when I am at work. But no one seems to notice!! hehe.

    Have fun!!! x

These are all great suggestions. I don’t dance to "entertain" per se but when I conduct my pole parties and perform a demonstration, sometimes I draw blanks. You would think it gets easier or I choreograph something but I don’t want to look overly rehearsed. I want to make sure that I show a full range of moves they can learn in my classes. I agree with the floorwork until you think of the next move. And I will have to try that combo spin idea! Thanks.
