I work in a bar, and they have a pole and they let me have a play on it some nights.

The problem I have is that the stage is quite small and they’ve put it in the corner of the bar so next to two wall. (so no big swings like RG.) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Also, the stage has carpet on it (idiots) but I can just cope with that. Plus side it is super duper tall!

My question is, I never like doing inverted tricks at work, as I am not sure how to dismount gracefully. At home, i usually slide down with the pole between my legs and lie flat, but I don’t think I could at the bar as I might hit the wall. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

So do you lovely ladies have any dismount suggestions?? I usually only do the gemini/scorpio/inverted crucifix/butterfly… as there the only moves I can do right now that would require me to get down. I was thinking maybe doing say a handstand after the crucifix, then pushin to the side of the pole landing on my feet, but i always worry i might break my ankle landing in my shoes. lol.

Also, any spin combos that you guys really like and think look really nice? I just find myself repeating EVERYTHING, and i hate havin to do that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

If you cannot control a shouldermount dismount than even a slow chopper dismount looks good. Be careful though because this really stresses your back and shoulder muscles and if you do not have the strength you can hurt yourself. Can you get right side up from and invert on the pole (basically climbing over your legs)?

i rreeaallyyy wanna be able to do reverse sholder mount, cos that would be perfect. looks amazing! gonna keep trying.

And im gonna try climbing over my legs to get upright, was a thought I had. Just worried I could look a little funny if i got stuck. I will try it at home first! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thanks for the advice!!!! ur stars!!!

I second the reverse chopper suggestion. It’s always been one of my fav ways to dismount out of an invert.

Have you ever seen/done a spiral exit down from the crucifix? this would probably work in the small space.

From a handstand position, allow your body to curl around the pole like a candy cane stripe as you wind your body to the floor.

Maybe find a way to go from an invert to a climb move so you can just get off the pole from that. You can always go from gemini to side climb then dismount. Or maybe from butterfly to apprentice then dismount. Or go from striaght edge to brass monkey then hook one foot and lift to sit. A less graceful way is to dismount from straight edge doing a reverse handspring (I don’t know the proper name.

    Hope this helps.
