I will try to explain it:

climb pole to sit, then release from sit and legs hang, knees bent, while you put your body in front of pole and lift legs up and wrap them around pole?

It kind of sounds like an air invert?

Are you by any chance talking about Figurehead, or maybe Hood ornament? Or anything like that?

Did you mean hanging with your back to the pole?

No, it is not that. More of forearm on pole and other hand over strong arm and then your body is in front of pole for only a second as you lift the legs and bend using stomach muscles to lift up and hook your legs on the pole above your arms. Then you end up upside down.

Ok, so it’s an inverted move? Or do you mean the transitional move in between? Or the invert itself?
It sounds like an aerial basic invert(?) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif

lol, I’m not getting it, am I? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Yes, that is it. Boy, I can’t get that one. I have been working on it for months. I did get my one foot to hit the pole last week. So hopefully, I will nail it soon.

I was looking for a video or if veena had a lesson on it to make sure I am doing it correctly. I am actually hoping that I am doing it wrong, so that if I do it the right way that I will get the move right away.

    Thanks

Do you kick up into an invert when on the ground? If you do then you will not have proper form/strength to do this. I would try standing on your tip toes and trying to invert from there before trying from the air.

if you are getting one foot to hit the pole– you’re trying to kick into it. work on climbing, hanging, then bringing your knees to your chest in a tuck, then rolling back so your hips are up in teh air, THEN putting your legs up to wrap around the pole.

ok, I will try it that way. I was trying it by swinging my legs back (bent) and with some momentum to get them up.

you need to be able to do an invert from the ground with zero momentum before you should try doing it from a climb. it’s not a momentum move, it’s a strength move. good luck!

KC…I don’t have the Air invert posted yet in the lessons, it is coming along with tons of others but…..to work up to it….work on your tuck invert. Focus on lifting the legs up without any added swing of the legs. Also I hold my arms slightly lower for an air invert so you can try that as well. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Thanks, I can do an invert from standing on ground without using momentum. Yep, need to build those stomach muscles.

I will look up the tuck lesson and practice that along with adding more stomach exercises https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
