Too much friction!
I have a brass Platinum Stages pole, and it seems to be too grippy! It’s great for when I am trying to climb or do stationary tricks, but it makes spinning tricks very hard on my hands. I get caluses on my hands, and it becomes so irritating and painful that I have to stop poling until it heals. This only happens in the summer time when it’s hot outside and my hands are warmer.
I specifically bought a brass pole because I thought stainless steel would be too slippery, and I used to work at a club that had brass poles and they were always smooth and almost greasy, even after being cleaned.
In another thread, someone suggested I try using Brasso to clean the hand-swipe marks off my pole and keep it from getting tarnished, which I will try. Maybe that will help this, also?
