I know I’m strong enough to hold my weight with one hand–so why can’t I spin like that? Does anyone have any tips for breaking through the fear and getting your feet off the floor in a one-handed grip? Also- I’m using a spinny pole– I’ve been wondering if this would be easier on a static? Your thoughts? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

    Thanks!

Its easier on static in my opinion, because on spinny your going faster and it requires more strength to hold yourself on the pole

It’s much easier on a static pole. Choose an easy spin, start doing the spin with both hands, try to shift your weight to one hand and, when you feel comfortable, take the other hand off…

One handed spins are not beginner moves, so save them for later in your training. Spinny and static require different techniques so be aware of that. If your trying to enter into your spins (on spin mode) like someone who is using a static pole you’ll fly off!! Static spins are all about using timing, legs and body weight to create momentum. With spin you have to learn to control and hold a position. If you happen to be taking the lessons on here just know they are all taught on a static pole. I have had some think I was using spinny and they couldn’t figure out why they couldn’t hang on. LOL
