    I just got my ayasha for the first time and awsomely enough i had my fiance taking pictures to put online and decided to give it a go for kicks and it actualy happened, so i stopped screaming long enough to share it here. so it looks completely horrible, but does anyone have any tips for improvement?IMG_1198.JPG

    Congrats! This is a hard move.
    Lower your legs and stick your butt out more, straddle a little wider and point your toes.
    Sticking out your butt will help your body weight shift opposite of your elbow so that it pulls your elbow more securely into the pole, be sure your elbow is strong. Lowering your leg will help counter balance your new shifted body weight. Straddling wider makes it easier to balance from side to side. And pointing your toes just looks nicer.

    Nicely done!! That is a hard one move and exciting to get down. When I first started doing the Aysha I found it easier to hold and V out my legs with my hips close to the pole. The V-ing out of the legs does help with the balance. That pencil straight hold uses a lot of core strength to stay steady. As I could hold it longer I actually started to drop my hips back and out a bit more…building more strength. Great work!! Keep it up girl!! xoxo

    great job! congrats =) if you are using elbow grip, you want to stack your spine through your back and your butt– so no arching, think of it as almost rounding out your back so that the weight in your lower body transfers smoothly down into your back and through your arms. also, rounding out your back will make it easier to scoop your belly and tuck your hips so that your legs are lower and in the right position.

    thanks all I’ve managed to get it better on a hit and miss sort of basis, but it really feels like i have to arch my back way out to be any sort of stable, is it supposed to feel that way?

    No…. you arch your back if you use forearm grip aysha. you have to have a straight back or slightly rounded for elbow grip. but you do want your body as far from the pole as possible to be stable in elbow grip.
