Can’t seem to get any sort of arch with this move =( I’m pretty sure it’s not a back flexibility issue, I can get a pretty good arch doing it upright from the floor. I’m very comfy with my CKR and CAR, can sit back up or slide down, no biggie. As soon as I get those hands up over my head (or below, as the case may be) I can’t seem to push up into the arch at all. Is there a trick I’m missing? Any help is appreciated!

Here’s how I do it. When I am down in the car I put my hands and grab the pole behind me as high up as i can. Then I extend the arms as much as I can and push my hips forward. Hope that helps. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Also, it might help to focus on pushing your feet (w/ leg/legs extended) closer to the ground.
(Along with grabbing high, extending arms, pushing hips forward, and don’t forget to keep squeezing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif )

by grabbing high once you are already in car, does that mean closer to the floor, or closer to your butt

It also helps to press your legs out really long. Imagine you’re touching the far wall with your toes. The more extended your legs are, the more you’ll be able to push your hips to the sky. Post a pic!

For me, there is a "magic spot", means if I grab the pole too low OR too high I feel like I can’t press against it, there’s just no force behind my arms…
If I get it right, I can push, and the arch in my back, hips up and feet down follow automatically into the right position.
So I move my hands up and down the pole a little once in CAR till I find this spot.
I’m suspecting this might be different for everybody, depending on your shoulder & back flexibility https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

    Good luck!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
