I did away with uploading on youtube due to the music issues. After sitting down tonight and watching some of the latest uploads of my subscriptions, it appears several of you are now able to post your chosen music. Is this in fact actually possible or is it the same old hit and miss with your youtube music picks? I’d love to start uploading to my channel again but if its the same headache as before, I’m not even going to bother. Thanks in advanced! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

if you get the blocked music bit, theres a video that shows you how to get your music back. Thats happened to me a few times, sometimes I got a slap on the wrist other times they took off my audio.

    heres the vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MVXi41ZZKI&playnext=1&videos=CdK1-aKJO1s

Poledancefan sent this to me and I will repost here to pass the info along. YouTube is not completely hit or miss, there is plenty of music that is allowed. But remember these are just guidelines, an artist can choose to have their music removed if they want, whether YouTube normally allows it or not. Hope this helps

All Warner Music remains strictly off limits on You-Tube–they are still in a nasty fight over royalties and will supress any WMG product you upload because Warner essentially "Infringement noticed" each and every piece of Warner music ever written, so You-Tube is obligated by law to remove it or be liable to a lawsuit.

Performers retain the right to electronically "Infringement notice" any particular thing they please, EVEN IF they are a partner company. Most rock bands don’t do it….except a few…ha ha like PRINCE, lol! He is famous for his petty lawsuits against You-Tube, so they usually just take his sound away…even the little 3 year old girl shrieking 3 1/2 seconds of Little Red Corvette inthe bath-tub got the sound turned off. Everybody is afraid of Prince, lol!

By way, CAPITOL-EMI is also a partner of You-Tube. They are tiny little players, nowadays–but some of the old, good stuff is on CAPITOL- EMI !

Sony basic groups are Columbia, Epic, Federation, GUN, Kinetic, Legacy, (Windham Hill), RCA, Arista, J Records, Bluebird, Phonogenic, the entire Provident Group, RED, SONY NASHIVILLE, SONY MASTERWORKS, SONY MUSIC AUSTRALIA, ZOMBA*, SONY JAPAN, SONY DISCOS, Tri-Star, ALmost Gold, Century, Dancing Cat, D-town, GOOD Music, Gun Records, DEutshe Harmonia, Independieinte Records, Nick Records, NOT NOW MUM! Records, One Records, Platinum Star Records, RIckus Avenue, SHOUT! Factory, Thrive Records, Thugtertainement, Wind-up Records.

Universal owns HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of labels:

    Here are the Groups:

    A and M (polydor, Will.I.AM)

    Geffen (7 different labels)

    Interscope ( 23 labels–including MY SPACE MUSIC)

Island DEF-JAM (6 major subgroups–now includes MOTOWN, Island, Def Jam, Mercury, Roc a Fella)

    Machete Music (14 labels)

Sanctuary (About 25 labels, including the reggae labels TROJAN and RAS…anything with the name Sanctuary Group on the album)

UNIVERSAL MOTOWN (Motown and about 20 other labels, including the reggae label Tuff Gong, and the Republic label)

Decca (6 labels, including ECM, Decca Broadway, and Decca Records)

Universal Music NASHVILLE (basically, this is Universal Nashville)

Verve (7 labels, including DECCA JAZZ)

Then the independents sucked up by Universal in the past few years: Barclay, Bite, COD, Cineopoly, Family, GLobe, GO East, Impact, Isadora, Jazzland, Motor Music, Manifesto, Polar, Nhi Le Records, Radioactive, RMM, Ruff RYders, Show Dog, Spinefarm, Stockholm, UCJ, UMTV, Uni, Hip-O, Universal Music Latino, V2, Concord, Rolling Stones Records,

All of the Universal National Labels:

Island UK, Polydor Uk, Argentina, Australiam Belgium, Universal Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Universal Czexh Republic, Denmark, FInland, France, Universal…. Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Universal Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, NZ, Norway, JAZZLAND Norwy, Poland Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, STOCKHOM RECORDS, Switzerland, Taiwan, UM PHILLIPINES,

    AVEX TRAX

    Joel

*PS, by the way, ZOMBA –that’s Britney Spears–or it used to be!

how come theres such a big problem with you tube and music but you can upload any music you want on studioveena? Is it because of the type of website or something? I was just curious… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

It’s all politics over royalties and ownership. Basically, if an artist wanted to, they could tell StudioVeena to stop allowing their music to be posted on the site, and if SV didn’t comply, they could be sued.

The thing is, SV is relatively small compared to YouTube so it’s not as much of a threat (also there’s no money to win in a potential lawsuit). So enjoy the opportunity here, and if you want to post on YouTube as well, you just have to pick your music wisely (see above post for record labels).

Thanks! I remember Joel posting that before, I just wasn’t sure if things had changed.
