    Aloha everyone!
With just a day or two (or three!) left until I receive my pole!! I’m heaps excited! Can’t wait to get it up and running asap!

Now, I have heard of Tite Grip but didn’t wanna buy something online when I wasn’t sure if it’ll work for me so I went to my local chemist and asked for a strong anti-perspirant for my hands as I tend to get extremely sweaty hands when I pole (mostly due to excitement/nerves). I’ve been wearing proper leather gloves now since I started Beginners back in March or so and wanted to try something that can actually help prevent and cut down on my sweat problem so I bought some Driclor anti-perspirant, which is basically a medicinal anti-perspirant to treat excessive sweating. The product promises to significantly treat excessive sweating and has specific instructions on applying it at night before bed but I don’t want to totally dry my hands out as it’s normally fairly dry when I’m not poling. Does anyone here have any experience with this?! Do you think it’ll be effective if I apply it on my hands (and feet) before poling?

    Thanks a bunch!!

Hey I tried this about 2 years ago. It definately cut down on the sweating so I liked it but my friend who also tried it found it dryed her hands out so much she couldn’t grip at all. I would think it’s worth a try if you get really sweaty. I have found that now I’m a confident poler I don’t get sweaty hands like I used to when I was a beginner either and I rarely need grip aids now.

    Hope this helps

    Cxxx

I like tite grip but I am interested in getting Driclor too. Tite Grip seems to kick in like 4-5 hours AFTER I poled. So my advice with Tite grip would be to apply it all day like lotion.

i tried drysol, which has the same active ingredients. it did absolutely nothing for me, except dry out my hands so badly that they hurt, peeled, and stung. but… your mileage may vary.

Prior to poling yesterday at my studio, I put some Driclor on my hands and instantly noticed that it made a somewhat tacky sensation and the sweating was reduced somewhat. However, I still had to resort to gloves because I was still TOO slippy on our studio Stainless Steel poles. I swear they are the WORSE poles to learn on! They’re moody as anything – one day being SUPER slippy and other days they’re a bit grippier!
Overall, I think Driclor isn’t a bad product for those that tend to be sweatier. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I got my Chrome X-Pert X-Pole today!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Felt the finishing of the pole and definitely noticed it’s a LOT MORE grippier than SS. I’m SO THANKFUL to those that contributed to my other post about TG, SS or Chrome! I’m glad I didn’t listen to my studio owner about Chrome being MORE slippy than SS as I think the Chrome’s great! I haven’t poled on it yet but I think as the slip problem decreases the more confident I become, I think it’ll be a fine finish instead of going for EXTRA grippy as the TG! Can’t imagine what it’d feel like to pole on that!!! RIP ya skin apart!
But definitely a difference to the SS. =) Couldn’t be happier!!!

Now…if someone can just show me the video where Veena does a tutorial on setting up an X-Pert… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
