    Hi there,

I’ve just begun to take Veena’s online lessons and I have a question regarding the pole pull up. Here goes:

Is this exercise basically to help with upper body strength and grip?

That’s all I need to know.

    Thanks.

yes, it does strengthin ur upper body. when you do inverts you use those muscles to pull yourself up, and then use your core muscles to lift your lower body. so it is essential to get those muscles strong for a strong invert! and yes it also does help with grip.

    Great!

I’m currently working on the inverted thigh hold and the Gemini so any additional help I can get is gravy! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Thanks! kerrierou. Shes right adamseve, it will also strengthen your biceps and chest a bit too. This move will make climbing and inverting easier and safer. Once you get strong enough that the basic pole up is easy then you can move on to actually pulling you whole body up with just arms, but stick with the hold and slow slide down to start with. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

hey T! the pull is great for building strength in your whole upper body! It helps a lot especially when you go to do any kind of spins or inverts when you need to pull your body off of the ground!

glad you made it over here!
