Maybe you should shower before you go to bed and put lotion on then, that way you have all night to absorb the lotion before you play on the pole the next day. Lotion is a good thing, it helps your skin look better, keeps it hydrated to look younger longer, and dehydrated skin doesnt stick as well to a pole. The only time ive run into a problem is when I put on coconut oil the night before playing on the pole, if I want to super hydrate my skin with coconut oil, I need to put it on the night before the night before playing on the pole, so if I wanted to play on the pole wednesday, id have to put it on monday night. Any other lotions I havnt run into problems as long as I put them on the night before and not that morning.

I can use lotions up to about 2 hours before practice with out problems and I get better grip if i use lotion the same day i go poling. Just remember to massage the lotion really good into the skin. Dont just slather it on. You could also just try and see what works for you https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Like Mel said, I moisturize right before bed time. It’s actually a better time to moisturize anyways, Because your skin repairs itself when you’re sleeping https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Then when you wake up in the morning, You’re skin is still refreshed and you’re ready to go! Right after You shower is a good time to put on lotion too, Because your skin doesn’t stick too the pole if it’s too dry, or squeaky clean from a fresh shower. Just try not to pole within the first 2 or 3 hourse of putting it on, and try to just ease up on "slathering" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Now I’m really confused! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Since I’ve been poling and after being told off by my teacher https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif I was always under the impression that using lotion was a big no no! My teacher had even said not to use any lotiion a couple days prior to my lessons. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

So on the days that I know i’m going to pole I bathe but don’t use any lotion on me which is a pain being of black skin (ashy knees and legs is not a pretty sight) but more importantly I don’t want to injure myself or others on the pole.

Aloe vera gel will soak right into your skin and not leave you greasy. I also have good word that Aveeno can be used. The DAYS without lotion is ludicrous. I have never had a problems with using lotion after showering in the morning and then poling in the evening. Corn huskers lotion, which is not that easy to find anymore, can be used to help while poling as it will leave you a little tacky.

i just dont use lotion the day im going to pole. i too use cocoa butter after every shower since ive been 14 lol so it took me a while to get used to. whoever told sabrina not to use it for days was probably being cautious because of the class setting. you just have to find a regimen you like. you can always just wash your legs before you pole

When I know Im gonna pole that evening I dont apply lotion that morning, I try to apply it the night before. It really all depends on how much lotion you use, how well you rub it in and what type you use.

I normally always shower just before class and just didn’t apply lotion. I’ve since found a product that works well for hydrating my legs and allowing me to keep my grip. It’s called Satin Care in shower Moisturizer. It’s made by Gillette. It at times, can be difficult to find. Not all drug stores carry it.
