Assembling and disassembling your x-pole
Hey wonderful people,
My x-pole has yet to arrive, but I’m already curious about assembling it. Is it something I will be able to do on my own? I don’t have much space, so I will have to take it down after each practice, anyone have similar situation?
In the two tutorials I’ve seen online about the newest bottom loading x-pole, you need two people, really, is it necessary?

hmm…for myself I really needed my husband and don’t know if it’s something I could do on my own. I just asked him what he thought and he also found it difficult to respond about doing it alone. His comment was everyone is different and there are some who probably can, while others can’t; it’s better with two but possible alone. We thought maybe having someone the first time or two to get a feel for what’s like. Assembling it is not a problem for one person, it’s the standing it up, lining up with joist, I kinda supported it especially at the base while he rotated to adjust height. He was able to stand it up without me but don’t know how it would be for me alone. I’m on the small/thin side and am spoiled by him doing things for me.
Congrats on your new pole, did you get chrome or TG? We just got my new xpert TG yesterday, tested for few minutes, but can’t wait to actually practice later today. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
Oh, once you know where joist is and where base will be, aligning will more than likely be easier each time. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

My husband and I had to put mine together also. I really think it’s necissary for two people. He was the one that mostly put it together https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif , I was busy putting my pole outfit on and getting my ipod ready. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif But, I did have to help him line it up and hold the base while he tightened it.

Just like me to be impatient and not want to get it done myself, and not wait for the hubby.
It’s not here yet by the way, I’m just itching with anticipation, and want to pounce on it as soon as it arrives. I ordered the chrome 55 xpert pole,
Now, taking it down, has that posed any problems for you? I’m in the position where I *have* to take it down with each practice, because the layout of the apartment just doesn’t allow me to keep it up. I really wish I could keep it up though, and pole to my hearts content…..

Unfortunately someone else will have to give input regarding taking down often, mine is able to be up in spare room all the time. There is someone here who mentioned she takes hers down quite a bit, I think it’s Empyrean here on sv. She might be able to help you with this.

Like anything else it’s all in what you are use to.
The XPert is a bit confusing when reading instructions but there is a great online vid (hopefully someone can link it) or if you’re patient about reading, you can certainly do it.
There isn’t anything about the pole that a female cannot handle, neither putting it up not taking it down.
After several months of using them, I’m more proficient at putting the up and taking down, as well as full assembly than my husband is.

I’ve seen two tutorials on youtube, they were great, however neither showed how to take the pole down (or how to erect it by yourself). I’m not complaining though, when the pole does arrive, I will be referring to those videos.

I have a couple suggestions:
01. Put it in the kitchen so you can mix pole in with cooking. Hold the spatula in your mouth and reach it over to turn the food at the right time, while you’re on it.
02. There’s only room for one so the couch has gotta go!
03. Be rid of the couch here too and push the bed in it’s place so you can use the bedroom as a pole room.

Hi ya,
I got a xpert bottom loading pole and managed to put it up by myself the first time, although my ceiling is on the shorter side, I guess the higher the ceiling the more difficult it may be.

I set up and take down on a daily basis. I just have a standard sized ceiling. I do it myself and once you get the hang of it, it’s a piece of cake. Initially it is a bit confusing, but you will get the hang of it in no time. One thing that I have changed is that I don’t take the whole pole apart anymore. I just take the dome off, stick the whole assembled pole (leaning kinda sideways so it fits) in a closet and the dome on the shelf in the closet. I know that is probably a no-no (your supposed to take it apart every now and then), but I just didn’t have all the time to spare to completely break down and set-up.
It is annoying to have to move furniture and set up the pole every day, but I now have everything ready to roll in about 5 minutes. Until I can get my husband to buy us a bigger house, this is my only option.
Oh, and after a good practice, where your arms feel like jelly – that pole feels like it weights 200 lbs. when you go to put in away https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
