I finally am doing ok at climbing and some basic spins. I want to learn the seat, but when I try crossing my legs the inside of my thighs hurt. Then when I actually lock my thighs in place and even move a bit like to reach my hand under me my thighs slide down. You can hear my skin scraping down the pole. What am I doing wrong?

i don’t know if you’re doing anything wrong, but chances are you’re not. this move hurts in the beginning. it’s mostly a matter of practice and gaining strength to hold your self up.. make sure to hook your foot behind the pole, so that your weight can be supported more (if you’re not already doing that). eventually, your skin becomes resistant to the pain.. maybe someone else has more tips.. good luck and keep practicing!

    Pole burn is normal.

After a short time, you’ll not even notice it.

azriel made a good point. In the beginning make sure your foot is hooked around the back of the pole to support you and squeeze squeeze squeeze those thighs together. It will hurt but you’ll gradually built a tolerance to it. Best of luck with it my dear, you’ll get there! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
