Greetings from New Jersey!
Hi everyone!
I’m so excited to find this supportive group! I’m 45 years old and live in Montclair, NJ (an aside: we so need a studio in the area!). I took an intro class at New York Pole Dancing and I was hooked! I’m taking private lessons in NJ but while I like my intrructor very much, she is a little too advanced for me. So, I’ going to start with Studio Veena lessons and Youtube videos. i found these tutorials and they looked pretty good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmd0-KZH2wo&p=44E9D3F018C78FB5&playnext=1
I have a Kendra x-pole in my apartment that needs to be put up and then I’m ready to go. My favorite songs to dance to are Some Like it Hot by Power Station and Women by Def Leppard.
I’m looking forward to becoming part of this community.

Hello and welcome! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I think you’ll enjoy the lessons. I have them set up in order so you will know which moves are appropriate for each level. I always suggest starting with the strength section first and then moving on to the beginner lesson. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif We have Chat all day on Fridays (this is the day I make time for chat and can answer questions) and bendy buddies chat on Thursday (a group of dancers get together to stretch) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Thanks everyone! I put my pole up yesterday and I’m excited! I just need to get over my fear of my ceiling crashing down around me. LOL!
