So tonight…I was in class..and I’ve had my brass monkey mount (from the floor to the pole) pretty good for a good 2 mths..I went to get in it tonight, COMPLETELY missed the pole..flipped completely over and onto my knee..Moral of the story..never get too confident with a move and even moves from the floor..know escape routes, or atleast use a mat at all times.

Thankfully im not hurt. Its a little numb, but my ego was more damaged then anything. Im sure it would have made a amazing video if caught on camera lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif "how to do a front handspring using the pole" LOL

It happens to all of us. It’s hard sometimes to confront the move again after wards. I fell out of the caterpillar climb pretty badly and it took me a while to get the courage to try it again.

Ouchies! Well the only thing you can do about it now is, first of all, nurse your knee, and secondly, try to recall what the exact reason is that you fell. Did you shift your weight in a different direction? Did you try to do it too fast? If you can recall what the deciding factor in the fall was, then you have learned something from the experience. And never again will Brass Monkey be your enemy! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I dont know what went wrong to be completely honest. I didn’t put my leg enough over to "catch" the pole..I just realized i also have a 7 inch long scratch that runs from my collar bone to my boob that must have came from that fall. Im just glad my neck went with me instead of getting caught on the pole. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif

I’ve fallen the same way on a handspring. I’m still too afraid to do handsprings from the ground. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif Glad you are ok!!
