I became curious about a static lil mynx pole on craigslist, because it’s the only pole being sold in my area. Here’s the ad:

    http://charleston.craigslist.org/spo/2023899898.html

I weigh approximately 185 right now and I see that the weight limit for Lil Mynx is only 200. So, My primary question–Is that enough wiggle room to feel secure? Has someone in my weight range tried Lil Mynx? Also, are there other things I should be concerned about? I read something in another thread about the lil mynxs scooting across the carpet. What kind of ceiling damage might I expect (I rent an apartment. I think it’s a drywall ceiling with popcorn texture)? Also, this person is asking for $200 OBO, is that too much for a used pole or is that reasonable if I’m not paying shipping costs?

Part of me thinks that I should hold out for the new brass xpert, but I’m expecting that’ll be quite a bit more expensive.

I replaced my lil mynx couple of months ago with an xpert TG. I got two years out of my lil mynx. I can’t give comments about weight, etc. but I did have mine on carpet and no issues at all. Like I said, had it for two years, only took down couple of times for home repairs and company sleep-overs, other than that it was always up. There is a little hole in the ceiling where the mount was. It’s barely noticeable. On popcorn ceiling it probably won’t be noticeable at all. I also can’t comment on the coated pole, I had a stainless steel and struggled with being very slippery. There are others who love the ss. It was useful in having to deal with slippery grip to improve strength for tricks/holds at my beginner level.

I need to get around to selling mine, just haven’t posted on craigslist or sv. I was thinking of taking it to USPDF west coast to sell (cheap), but then I’m afraid it won’t sell and I’ll have to bring it home again (it’s a 3 hr drive). That being said, anyone want to buy a lil mynx stainless steel. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

That is REALLY expensive for a ‘Lil Mynx. I got my powder coated off ebay and paid less than that even with shipping (brand new on ebay they are $189, ones that can spin are $245).

As for the weight, I would not be too terribly concerned. I know this was discussed quite some time ago on another forum and there were several women that were above or near the weight limit but still LM’s. The only time you will possibly run into issues is on spins where you are really getting a lot of momentum. You will just need to routinely check the position of the pole (which should be done anyway).

But again…that is REALLY EXPENSIVE for a used LM.

I have a lil mynx too. It’s on carpet and I’ve never had a problem with it. I can’t really comment on the weight either other than my husband "swings" on it every once in a while. Uggg…silly man. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif He weight about 180ish.

The price just came down to $150 OBO, which makes me more interested. I’m just still wondering about the stability factor for my weight. Nobody seems to be able to comment on it.
