Alright ladies, I’m looking for your tips, tricks, and just overall wisdom.

I have an ample tooshie, a short torso, and a more cinched waist.  Very hourglass figure with curves and the “bootylicious” bum.  Bearing this in mind, I seem to always have the hardest time trying to find underwear I like.  Given the wealth of knowledge from forum contributors, I thought perhaps someone (or several someones!) could make some recommendations.

In the past I have worn thong underwear, but now find them rather uncomfortable.  The “cheeky” cut undies from Victoria’s Secret seem to fit nicely, but they get scrunched up in the front and leave too much in the back bare.  At present I rock the “awesomeness” (read with thick sarcasim) of traditional bikini cut panties…not quite spicey enough for my personality.

It’s almost like I need a bigger piece of fabric in the back to cover the butt and a smaller piece to not get all bunched up and ug in the front.  Make sense?

I look forward to your suggestions for “everyday” regular underwear wear and tips for poling shorts as well.

    Nayana

PS: As an afterthought, can someone tell me whether or not you’re supposed to wear undies with the booty shorts I see so many polers wear…  I would like to get a pair, but want to make sure I’m wearing them correctly.  :o)

I have a similar figure and all I can say is nylon nylon nylon!!! The best booty shorts/panties for us bigger bum small torso ladies is a 90-93% nylon and spandex blend. This gives the fitted look without the rolls spandex can create. Microfiber is great too. Also I always recommend trying a size bigger than you are. I used to wear smalls cause I though I was supposed to, then I tried medium even large and BAM no more booty bunching.

I prefer what is called Hip Hugger cut it is half way between a boy cut and standard. It give a bit of booty peek without ridding and nice and low on the hips, Hope this helps 🙂

I have always had trouble finding underwear that fit correctly and looked good under my clothing (aka invisible)  I used to find most thongs fairly uncomfortable until i found these which were recommended to go under some pencil skirts. They are soft, don't pinch the sides, frame the butt very nicely, don't ride up, and invisible in tight clothing. http://www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265361484307&c=Page&cid=1289999063676&pagename=vsdWrapper

I also do not like the cheekies but was  thinking of getting these. The design seems much better

I find the more clothe on the underwear the more material to wedge me!

I, too, am of the ample bottomed, short torso variety…and to be honest, I don't know the "best" way of fixing it! I've tried just about every kind of underwear that there is, and I find that, for me, there isn't really a "best."

I don't like thongs, at all. I don't like how they look, how they sit, how they feel…nothing. Husband also doesn't like them, so it works out for me.

However, given that, all I seem to be able to find is "low rise" everything. It's annoying, as "low rise" seems to not…well, rise at all. I eventually end up with fabric around my thighs and not my rear, which kind of makes the whole point moot! Or, I keep trying to hike them up higher…which, I gotta say, is TOTALLY sexy! </sarcasm>

Right now, I'm just wearing mostly a mishmash of everything. I like them to cover me, so I'm wearing mostly full booty panties and bikini types. I find these cover me well enough…and as for sexy/sassiness, well, I think I would prefer to provide that part, rather than get it from my underwear 😉

@Soul – I didn't look to see where you are located, but if you have a Target near you, I love their Xhileration line of undies. I use the boyshorts as pole shorts. I wear the string thongs (as opposed to regular thongs) since I'm short waisted and don't like ANYTHING coming above my hipbones, the tanga panty (which is new and is kinda between a thong and a boyshort, if you can picture that lol), their hipkinis are cute, and of course the regular "bikini" cut. They are cute because they are all cotton and because of the different patterns. I get a large in the thong, boyshort, and tanga, and an XL in the bikini (to give the extra coverage for my very large arse…hurray for Irish genes!). So your normal size will work in just about everything but the bikini, where I recommend you go a size larger. Hope that helps!

P.S. I really want to try the Fredericks of Hollywood tanga panty too…mega-cuteness!

A big whole hearted thanks to everyone for the tips and tricks!

I did find a pair of Gillian O'Malley boyshort"ish" undies from Target that I really like.  I think they're a cross over like the "tanga."  They are the one pair in my collection which I absolutely love so perhaps I'll just buy a ton of them (only one color available right now, but at least it would be comfortable).  (willowbreath – I'll also check out the Xhileration line for daily use and boyshorts for poling!  Thanks!)

I was hoping the Victoria's Secret hip hugger cheekies were going to fit the same, but not quite.  I think the hardest part is they seem to fit and stay put when I initially put them on but after a full day of wearing they start to ride up my hiney.

Perhaps I'll just have to play with sizes as well to see if perhaps I'm not wearing the right size.  It sounds like diffent cuts may actually require difference sizes (kind of how different bras require different number or cup sizes).

I love the Gilligan OMalley boyshorts for poling.  They change color selection every season.  I also recently found a line at Kohls made by Maidenform called Dream Boyshorts

Although I have to say that it is a little disturbing that both online reviews were by men…..

If you're trying to cover bootylicious curves, you definitely need to think in terms of the cut of the short. It's not so much the style (meaning, not cheeky vs. boyshort) as whether the designer has allowed for ample bottoms.  Just because something looks like a fuller short doesn't mean the pattern maker allowed for all the curves.

PoleSkivvies are fitted on pole dancers, but my secret weapon is a fit model who is absolutely bootylicious.  When it fits her, I know it will make pole dancers with back happy.  Scroll through some of these photos – and see if you see someone with your body shape – if it fits them, it will fit you.  http://poleskivvies.com/testimonials/

P.S.  Veena, you are so sweet – thank you!
