So I ordered my Xpole Sport yesterday.  After agonizing, I decided to go with the less expensive option..I spoke to a nice young man at Xpole with some questions, and he said the main difference is the spinning option and the chrome cover at the base.  Ill probably regret not going for the Xpert once I have advanced, but ah well!

So some questions for you Xpert Polers out there 🙂

    1.  Is there any way I should "season" the pole for ultimate "stickiness"?  I read a few threads that mentioned the poles are coated at the manuafacturer with something that makes it slick, to help guard against nicks, etc.

    2.  Ill be installling the pole in my garage which is not heated.  February in PA is COLD.  Should I invest in a heater to place near the pole for a bit before working out?

    3.  How many of you would highly recommend Veena's paid subscription lessons?

    4.  What sort of workout gear should I invest in to start out?  I am thinking a pair of leather ballet flats (dont plan on sporting the heels until I have gained some strength and flexibility), yoga pants, stretchy shorts, good sports bra (Im 42DD) and some comfy tees.

I think this is it for now…Im sure more questions will come 🙂

    Hi Dana!

Welcome to your new addiction 😀

    1) I recommend washing your pole with Dawn dish liquid then going over it with acetone to get it really clean.

    2) You really want a good space heater if you're poling in the garage.  You'll want to heat the area for about 20 minutes.

    3) The lessons are fantastic here!

    4) I suggest investing in some good sports bra's especially since you are so well endowed – get something that is made to last.  I like VSX, have heard great things about Mika Yoga Wear and Bad Kitty Exotic Wear has some great Pole Fit Wear too.  You'll want at least 1 pair of booty shorts and 1 pair of yoga pants – I suggest capri length because when you are learning beginner spins you'll have some ankle grip.  For shoes – ballet shoes work great.

    Thank you Charley!

Putting Dawn, acetone and space heater on my shopping list 🙂  I have a pair of capri yoga style pants, shorts and comfy tees so all I need is the bra 🙂

Was checking out grippy gloves and knee/ankle grips too but am thinking that is probably overkill …

    Cant wait to start!

the lessons here are great.  better than a lot of the dvds i purchased. im glad i subscribed.  only upset that i spent so much money on other dvds.   the only dvd i would recommend for beginners is art of pole.  has similar style as veena.

i am also a well endowed girl  i bought bali's racer back bra.  they r awesome!!!  they are also underwire for extra support.  i def suggest getting short shorts as u get more advanced.  capris are great for beginner moves.

    keep the questions coming!!  😉

I also highly recommend Veena's lessons!  I've been taking a pole class in my area and I also bought some pole DVD's, and Veena's lessons are WAY better than the DVD's and almost as good as being in a class environment and having someone right there to help you.  She does a great job of going over the points of contanct for every move, and she anticipates mistakes you might make as if she recently learned the moves herself (whereas some people seem so far removed from their memories of what it was like to be a beginner).  You also get access to ALL of the lessons (which include strength, beginner-advanced pole, and lap dancing lessons), so you can go at your own pace.  You also don't have to complete a lesson to go on to the next one if it doesn't work for you.  You can cancel your membership at any time (so that it does not recur) and still have access to the lessons for the remainder of the time that you paid for.  And if you're not getting a move everyone here is very supportive and helpful, and Veena herself does chats so that she can watch you try a move and help you get it.  Plus, the lessons are only $20/month – which is as much if not less than many DVD's out there and way less than a month's worth of lessons at a pole studio!

its also cheaper to buy the yearly subscription.  which does not recur.  but well worth the investment.
