So I've heard of a lot of people cleaning their chrome xpoles with acetone. For those of you who do use this method this may sound dumb but I just need clarification. Are you using actual acetone or are you using nail polish remover?

I've never used acetone, but I'd just go with plain vodka. Cleans the pole very well, and can't do any harm to it.

i heard that the traditional thing to clean the pole is gin =) put i think u can use anything what includes some alcohol, so nail polish remover may work, too. just try it

gin or vodka doesn't matter, you can use any other sort of more or less sugarfree clear schnaps. 🙂

many like to use window cleaner or, like lovebug said, nail polish remover with acetone – personally, i would refrain from using them, because they can harm you (allergic reactions etc) if you've got sensitive skin.

I would not use acetone at all and definitely not nail polish remover.  Typically nail polish remover has other ingredients to add oil since acetone is so drying.  You really do not want that left on your pole.  Also, acetone is really aggressive as a solvent.  Maybe if you have really bad build up of grip aid it may help but I would stay away from it.  I use isopropyl alcohol and many use windex.

Thanks everyone for the advice and clarification. I'm going to try using alcohol. I've been using windex and it just seems to make my hands slip even more.
