Was just wondering if anybody has ANY idea whats wrong with my arm.. 🙁 Everytime i go on my pole, i only last for 30 mins because i get a terrible pain down my left arm :/ It stays with me then ALL day Cant for the life of me figure out why its not even my dominant arm!!!
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas of what it is and how to sort it out, feel free to throw them my way 😀 cheers

hi lucifairy, can you tell us a bit more precisely where the pain is? my forarms hurt sometimes, especially the right, on the outer side (along the line of the ulna). this may be an overstrain of the muscles on this side, caused by the split grip (carousel etc), as the right arm is my lower arm in the split grip.

Well, I dont know what the muscles called. Its the back of my arm just above the elbow, towards the shoulder?
I havent been doing split grip, Ive been working on tuck inverts and gemini? lol
Im glad im not the only one to get strange pains mind!

The muscle you're talking about is your tricep. Rest! 🙂
Whenever I pull or strain muscles, I find that hot yoga or sauna relieves it the fastest.

Could also be tendonitis….I have it in both elbows and sometimes the pain radiates up into my bicep. A lot of people who do various sports in which you use a tight grip (bat, club….or a pole!) develop it =/

My best bet is that youre simply over-exerting your muscles. The same thing happened to me and I have concluded the answer is to give your muscles a good long break after training them. (which, i know, is easier said than done!) I also recommend Tiger Balm and/or Bio-Freeze, they helped me with the pain. 🙂

luci, is the pain mostly in the muscle or in the elbow/joint itself? the proximity to the elbow does sound like tendonitis or tennis elbow… not sure how much you've been training but you could absolutely aggravate it with the repetition of doing tuck inverts over and over. i would recommend you get it checked out…. but the only real cure is rest. here are some links that could help.

I posted the same thing a few days ago! On my left arm too! I was actually really scared because everyone said to rest and I tried..but at night the discomfort was very bad and I couldn't sleep.
I ended up going to the doctor and they told me I had a nerve pinch! Thank god it wasn't nerve damage! But they prescribed me some anti-inflammatory drug and told me to lay off the pole for a bit 🙁
Sometimes over working and turning your arm in weird ways can pinch a nerve or cause nerve damage when you over exert yourself.
So the drugs are working but they also said don't take it every day and only when I need it. If you take it (Tylenol or Ibuprofen which are mild anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers) it is possible that within three weeks you can give yourself a stroke.
What I ended up doing two days ago was getting a massage concentrated on my arm and then..I know I know..I got acupuncture! My arm has never felt better. Acupuncture is supposed to help unblock the bad chi in your body and the needles go along your meridian lines. It helps balances the flow and energy in your body. It is Traditional Chinese Medicine..it can't be proven but I've done it several times and so has my family. It's good for nerves, tendons, and muscle aches, as well as stress and over all balancing out the energy in your body..your chi.
I have a friend whose family owns a wellness center and they have acupuncture there. She fully vouches for it. So if all else fails…and you still feel bad..see a doctor or get a massage and acupuncture! I hope that helped.
