I have never heard of a bronze pole.

Platinum Stages has a removeable brass pole and XPole is coming out with one this year I believe.

I've not heard of Action poles before. They seem to be new…and, of course, I'm sure they are finding it difficult to compete, as our trust gets placed in a pole so rarely!

The company that this is "offered by" which you can find down at the bottom of the picture is called Brassworks, and they look relatively legit. Clearly, they are trying to keep poles and the rest separate, but they claim to "know brass" and it seems that they do.

Unfortunately I can't find any reviews on it, either, so I would say…these guys are very new.

I think it looks suspicious, especially when they have photoshoped a pole into the photos instead of showing off their products.

I first saw them a year , maybe two years, ago. I've never seen one of their poles nor have I heard from anyone who has used one.

Just for fun, I e-mailed them, telling them I was in the market. I tried to think of as many things as I could concerning safety and how it works, so hopefully I'll get an e-mail back, and I can let you know what they say. I asked for pictures of their base and how it all connects to the ceiling, as well as a possible video or reviews, because I don't know how well they work in action!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Also, looking at their shipping page, it looks like they may be based in BC, so that's interesting. If I get good information from them…well, who knows, they might end up being my next pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif One day, when I'm swimming in money, of course! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif

I should have checked their Brassworks website…because I just confirmed they're in Langley, BC. Lol! I always like local stuff 😛

    Alright

I phoned the company to find out a bit more info, the website seemed a bit sparse and I was somewhat weary.

in actuality they are not new to the market at all…

The company mainly deals in production, not direct retail, though you can buy poles individually from them, they prefer to sell to companies and studios.

These guys are the suppliers for Aradia fitness in Canada, if you have ordered a pole from Aradia, it comes directly from these guys.  They also supply a bunch of other studios, though that's the most well known.

In other words if you skip the middle man, and order directly from the manufacturer you save yourself $100, their poles sell for $325 as opposed to Aradia's $400 and something.

Anyways, ordered my new pole from them, and didn't' have to pay U.S border fees since their located in B.C,

it should be here in a week or so.

So for any Canadians that want to buy local, or not get caught up in international/border tax B.S this is a great option.

    cheers

So, pole finally came in and I've had a chance to test it:

    so far I'm pretty impressed

    The good:

the grip is awesome, very little slip compared to chrome or titanium, it's also 38" not 45", I'm putting this as a plus as I have small hands.

well made, looks very good, very professional, the x pole is downright ugly compared to this thing

Great customer service, the company was very helpful and kept me updated on the pole's progress (all orders are custom made)

The thing doesn't budge, I've flipped my biggest trix on it (handsprings, back spirals, flips) and there has been no problems with the pole moving or shifting on the ceiling (it's a removable pole, jack mounted like x pole and platinum stages)

    The Bad:

Shipping took forever and a day

the ceiling plate is very small, I'm use to to seeing the huge x pole dome, however this thing is less then half that.  I was initially very worried it would not be able to stand up to larger tricks, however I got to say its impressed me so far, and I'm pretty rough on my equipment

it's only 1 piece, it does not spin,

it is custom made so only fits in one size ceiling

    Overall:

I really like this pole, so far it's proven it's self just as safe and reliable as any other of the top brands, has a great look, and a great feel.  I"m a person that has always struggled with grip, and I feel much more secure and confident on this thing then I ever have working on my x pole.  yes not being able to break it down into pieces is a pain, but hey, you can't have it all.

I have no idea how on earth I missed this thread……..

I have one of their poles and love it!

Brassworks supplies the poles for Aradia out here. I have the 38mm brass….

I am going to order more from them. I don't have to worry about the shipping issues though as they are only a 10minute drive from my house.

I love my XPoles(chrome 50mm) but chrome and my hands don't like to play very nice. So, I added a brass to my collection in the studio…..If Xpole ever gets gets the brass version out…I am SO all over it! I love the Xpoles…..just need brass. I slip terribly on the TG even.

Overall—The pole itself is fabulous. It won't move. I have whipped around him pretty hard….I also have a 330 lb male that uses him to squat……He creaks a bit…..but he doesn't budge.
