Thinking About Selling My Pole. Advice?
Hello all you lovely Veeners; long time no see. We have had one nasty, long-lasting winter here, but it's finally, finally starting to warm up, so I'm getting back into poling again now that my stainless steel doesn't feel like I'm dancing on an oil slick. However, I am starting to seriously consider selling my Lil' Mynx to help pay for an X-pole. Any of you who have watched my videos or read my whiny posts know that I have serious issues with sweaty palms, to the point that routines are pretty much impossible because I can't do more than a few moves without having to wipe down the pole. Now, I'm a really sweaty person when I engage in any kind of physical activity anyway, but I'm wondering if the stainless steel is just not helping and is not reacting well with my body chemistry, as I've heard before that certain finishes just don't agree with some people. I am going to start experimenting with anti-perspirants on my hands (I've used tons of different grip aids but none of them have been anti-perspirants,) and see if that doesn't help, and I'm also going to snag a pair of the new Mighty Grip full finger gloves, so hopefully I will have my grip sorted out soon, SS pole or no SS pole. But…I've been watching a lot of videos with spinning poles and I have to admit that even though when I first bought my pole I decided I would never use spin mode…I am now dying to try it out. So the possibility of improved grip isn't the only thing that's pushing me toward buying a new pole. Also, it would be nice to be able to break it down and take it over to friends' houses. I'm also hoping to move within a year or so, and the X-pole would be a lot easier to transport.
My question is, does anyone think a different finish might help my grip problems? This has been an issue for a long time, and I'm sick of it. Also, how the heck do I go about shipping this thing?
If I do decide to sell it, I'm thinking I'll probably ask $150 plus shipping for it; it's been lightly sanded and is broken in a bit now, so it's not as slippery as a brand new one; anyone not super sweaty would probably do well on it. It's stationary only, but if you're a beginner looking for a quality pole it would be a nice starter if you can't shell out the cash for a brand new one right now. If anyone is interested, PM me; maybe if I get a couple of people asking about it it will help me make up my mind to get rid of it.
