For inverting at the top of the pole the first thing I learned was how to dead lift. Essentially you have to go into the invert hand grip while in your pole sit then drop your legs and just hold on with your arms then lift your legs while they’re hanging into the invert position. You need to be STRONG to do it from way up the pole because you’ll use a bit of energy getting up their so I’d practise while hovering above the floor first, hope this helps I don’t have any videos to link you too I’m afraid, good luck though! 🙂

Practising a complete deadlift into invert from the floor (ie no kicking/momentum etc) is probably the best way to start working towards it because this is how you'd do it from the pole.

This is exactly what i needed….i couldnt think of anything that would help me practice the move and i've been going crazy just climbing to the top and trying to go into it blindly…

Here is a good thread on inverting.  The dos/don't's and if you have the strength.   https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/Am_I_ready_for_an_inversion_2009-05-31_170937

Yeah you need to be strong enough to invert without kicking to do that.

Also you need to bring your hips in front of the pole once you're in an aerial pole hold. So the pole is kinda on your low back/bum. From there you can lift your legs up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

    Hey,

I just did a blog on working on more of a controlled inverts, and believe that some of the advised exercises could benefit you, too.  We are basically targeting the same muscle groups.  I take classes with a great teacher, that focuses on strength training, and we do lots of the same exercises the ladies recommended + standing leg lifts (those kick my ass!).

Here is a link to my blog:

Be patient, and stick to it…

    Hope it helps!
