I have this DVD and I found it to be interesting but they don't incorporate a lot of good flexibility stretches.  It's a great program concept for beginning but I think there is a lot of room for improvement- as I'm sure when this DVD was made, the program itself was in it's early infantile stages.

Polga is a program designed by a Yoga instructor in Kansas that also decided to incorporate poles into her Yoga studio.  By doing this, she decided to implement stretches using the poles and coined the term: Polga (Pole Yoga).  It's trademarked and essentially she owns rights to using the name and has created a program through her studio.  I think it's a great concept and a lot of other programs have come along with their own names- such as Poleates, Pole Yoga, etc.  Basically using the pole for other exercises or classes other than "pole dancing."

    I believe its polga.com

Its def for people like me who have never liked yoga n are just starting flexibity. It also uses real women as the participants. So it gives u the feelin that anyone of could do what they r illustrating. The strength section was also appealing.

Hmm, interesting.  Sounds like the pole fitness class I teach.  It's just a toning and strengthening class to build up muscles used on the pole, but we use the pole for resistance or a prop for certain moves.  Didn't know there were other variations!  I'll have to check out Polga.

I've structured my signature class that I teach at the studio using some of the research I gathered and this DVD was one of the programs amongst my research.  Like I said, it is a good beginning program to introduce the concept, but there are far more deeper stretches out there that they could have incorporated.  They also teach a certification course and upon completion one can use their trademark class name once certified and therefore teach Polga at your own studio.
