I'm new to pole dancing, but really love it and want to save up for a pole to practice at home with. I've heard from many different sources that having a pole damages your ceiling and leaves an indent/mark on it. I was wondering, is there any way to put up a pole, or possibly anything you could put between the pole and the ceiling which would stop this marking? I really can't damage my floor or ceiling as I am living in my parents house at the moment ~ Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

My X-pole has never left any kind of mark or indent on my ceiling.  I have had it up for over a year now and taken it down a number of times without any problems.  Now…I will admit that accidently kicking the ceiling with my shoes has left a few small black marks, but I'm pretty sure they would come off if I really tried to clean them.  🙂

It depends on the type of ceiling you have.  Mine is heavily stuccoed (the really pointy ouchie kind) and my X has definitely taken some of that off.  If your ceiling is flat and you put the pole up properly you really shoudl not have much of an issue.  And yes, tall+short ceilings+6" heels DON'T mix!

Thank you both for the information! It helped to hear other people's experiences, since I was planning on saving up for an X pole.

I have a 'popcorn' ceiling and an XPole.  It did leave a small 'ring' on the ceiling.  I can't stand popcorn ceilings anyway so I took the popcorn off and now I have a flat ceiling.  My pole has not left any marks, dents, or anything on the flat ceiling.

I am too scared to find out. I haven't taken my pole down in yearsssssssssss. I wonder if my ceiling would collapse or if something is growing in there. lol!! Glad to hear most don't have marks from them.

Stevesgirl—thanks for the info. I have what is called an "orange peel" ceiling which is a little textred but nowhere near a popcorn surface—so perhaps since most of the texture of my ceiling is very flat, there won't be any trouble? Thank you also to heathalynne, you are funny ~

sugartoe – I did have my pole up on a ceiling that was 'orange peel' too.  It was only up there for about 48 hours, but there were no marks at all on that either https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

When I first got my x-pole, I kept turning it upward and I heard a "POP" I took it down and saw a semi circle ring.Moved it to another area. No need to keep twisting once its snug:)

Stevesgirl, thank you for your reply, that really helped me. It is nice to know that someone has tried the pole on an orange peel ceiling. . .thank you!

Roamy, that is terrible. . ..but I still laugh a little too when I think of your story, I'm sorry ! So I will be very careful in setting up my pole 🙂
