what’s your favorite pole move (or combo)?
Posted by HollySatine on August 6, 2011 at 11:36 pmI was just curious about what everyone's favorite pole move is…BONUS question: what's your favorite way to transition in/out of it?
I'll start with mine…the cross knee release has always been my favorite because it's so easy to transition into and out of and it looks so pretty, but lately I'm wondering if the butterfly is becoming my new favorite since it's only just now becoming a reliable go-to move. I really like swinging my free leg around into a flatline scorpio to get out of it, especially if I'm high enough up the pole that I can slide down into a scorpio handstand…
your turn! 🙂

i also like swinging my leg from the butterfly into flatline scorpio =)
i have many favourite moves, but i think i can pick out two tricks i think i love a little bit more than the others ^^
1. the twisted grip lift: because i´m really proud that i´m able to do this move as i always was impressed when i saw others doing it
2. the emotion: a trick i discovered on my own =)

that´s the emotion:

i discovered it when i wanted to learn the knot ^^

The emotion is also called the recliner or recliner mount. It's pretty cool when done aerially!
-
didn´t know that the trick already exists… i never saw it before. where did you find it?
-
ok, i googled it now. the recliner mount is the same as the cradle invert. i can do it aerial, too. in some of my videos i do it , but this one was old and i could just get up from the ground.
i didn´t mean the way i get up, only the trick when you are already up.
the cradle invert or recliner is just going up into a basic invert or crucifix.
so i only thought the trick/position after the mount is new.
i hope my english is good enough that u understand what i mean ^^

There are a few links on YouTube. I found a really good video of it once where she didn't just slide down the pole afterward but actually added some legwork after mounting, but unfortunately I didn't bookmark it. If done aerially this move looks really smooth, and can be taken into the Pencil by sliding the hands together (I can't do that yet, but a friend of mine has pulled it off a few times).
I thought once I had created a new spin, and it turned out to be the Black Widow 🙂
I just found this link, apparently people also call it the air cradle invert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLKAUjgRyDU

Yeah, the videos tend to just show the invert. I wish I could find the awesome video I had of it, she worked it into a routine with legs and all!
-
i also tried going in the pencil or archer, you have to do this from the knot. i also found this a bit tricky, especially sliding down with the hands… but finally got it =)
i filmed a new video this morning where i did a air cradle invert, too. gonna upload it now!
-
My friend gets into the Pencil just by doing the recliner invert, hooking the outside leg, bringing the inside leg through, and letting her body down. I don't think she's ever tried the Knot, but that move would make sense too to transition into it.
-
you should ask her to try it, it´s a lot of fun and i think it looks great =)
-
How do you get into the Knot? I've never actually seen it done.
-
also with the cradle invert, you just have to hook your leg from the front (like you would do a brass monkey). you can see the trick here: http://www.poledancecommunity.co.uk/syllabus.html?mvlvl=4
i also have an old video of it (can´t remember in which of my new ones i maybe did it), but the way i get into it doesn´t look so good ^^:

but you might get an idea how to get into it
