Ok, so I understand that this is going to be super specific, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.  I'm working on a routine that I've pretty much already finished except that I need to replace one move and don't want to rework the whole section.  The routine will be done on a spinning pole and is for a recital, and the move I need to replace is near the end so I'd like to avoid moves that require a lot of hand grip (because at that point mine will prob be really sweaty).

The original moves are CKR to drama queen to plank, and then I need to get to the floor so I was just going to pull myself upright and slide down after the plank.

The problem is that by the time I get to the plank the pole stops spinning and it doesn't look good, so I need to replace it with a move that is done closer to the pole.  My aerial invert isn't pretty and I'm worried about my hands slipping – ideally I was going to do a CAR into something else but my CAR isn't reliable enough.  I thought that since I'm basically in a pole sit before the move I need to replace, it would be easy to find something else to do, but I'm stuck because there are so many factors I have to deal with and I've already been thinking about this routine nonstop for the past week.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Can you do a tuck drop? You could go into a tuck after the CKR and Drama Queen (and to be honest… I don't know what a Drama Queen is…) and do the drop. It doesn't require hand grip at all, it's close to the pole, and it'll get you down to the floor pretty quick.  The drop is a fairly easy one to learn, but it does take practice to actually drop and catch instead of just doing a painful skidding slide down. Don't stress yourself over this too much! If all else fails, you can do the CKR, come back up and just fan the legs in a pole sit as you slowly slide down. I'm sure whatever you pick will be lovely.  Good luck! 😀

From a CKR you could go into a cross knee bridge then back up to a drama queen. Or if you can do the splits you could replace the plank with pole splits, if your hands are sweaty and you slip your bottom foot won’t be far from the ground and it will just look like a really cool dismount. You could also replace the plank with a Daphne ( http://poledancedictionary.com/moves/60/daphne/ ) if the spin slows or even stops it’s still a pretty pose.

Have you thought about reversing it? Pole sit -> plank (slows the spin) -> drama queen (speeds back up) -> CKR -> handstand to the ground.

    thanks for the help everyone!

cocoa0 – the cross knee bridge reminded me of a similar move I just discovered again called the rainbow: http://poledancedictionary.com/moves/289/rainbow/ …the bridge looks a little too similar to the ckr and i want to separate them with the drama queen, but i think i can make the rainbow look a little extra different if I bend the extended leg a little… ckr, drama queen, rainbow seems to fit the music the best.

    englann86 – here's the drama queen: http://poledancedictionary.com/moves/68/drama-queen/

thanks again for the advice! 😀

Oh! I was referring to the Drama Queen when I said "tuck"… that's what I've always called it for some reason.  So the drop I was referring to would be in the Drama Queen pose. Now I've got myself wanting to practice this… lol… always happens to me.
