i have been poling for a couple of years now on my own at home. i feel so all over the place. i have not mastered anything and i am too shy for a traditional class. does anyone have any tips on how to structure my own workouts. i go from trying to create a routine to working on specific moves to working on dancing. i use all the dvds and veena but i dont have any focus because i want to learn everything. it can be overwhelming at times. any suggestions?

Hi Coleslaw.https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Did you watch this video "Tips for Success"? https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/did-bf68-46c6-9306-11770ac37250 Also, you can find more information on structoring your pole workouts in all of the "Getting started videos" You'll find these videos at the beginning of each section, they contain important info. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I know you said you have been poling for a few yrs now but I would still suggest starting with the strength and stretching for the first few weeks and then… try moving on to transitions and beginner pole work on your 3rd week. This would give you something structured to follow. Remember the lessons are set up for you to use them in the order in which they are listed…even the stretches.

One of the most important things you can do is keep a log to track your progress and to track what you would like to do or have done. Once things are written down you can make sure that you have the rest days you need.

I'm sure others will have some great ideas as well.

You're not alone, I've been training alone at home (with Veena) for more than a year and i still think i should do what V suggest. Why not put a timer in your pole room or at least a clock, set some time for strenght, stretching, pole moves….and fun of course. Use a board where you can write what you want to work on. Seeing it will motivate you to work on it so you can erase it. Don't forget that can can always ask for help here by asking some tips or sharing video. Veener are so good to motivate you and put you back on track when you need it. Good luck !!!
