FAVOURITE FLOOR WORK
Hi everyone,
I'm doing a performance to pass advanced level at my studio and once again i've got all my pole trick combos but i'm struggling with floor moves, I've looked at so many vids but i just cant seem to link anything together,
does anyone have any favourite combos they could list step by step?
Example.. Cat crawl, to duck dive, push back to sit up on knees, chest rolls etc..
The song is 7 nation Army, so it doesn't have to be specifically sexy moves.. but i think aslong as they are strong to go with the beat it should be fine 🙂
On another note.. i still struggle to feel sexy while doing some moves and i think this shows while performing..

My favorite floor work move is a modified backward roll. I lay on my back with my hands at my sides, then pike my legs over my head. I put both hands palm down above my shoulders and I roll backwards over my shoulder, keeping one toe on the ground and bending the other leg at the knee. You will slide backward and uncurl your torso. It looks really pretty, but hmmm, maybe I need to make a video.

I have been on a real floorwork kick lately–posted a vid last week and also one the week before, if you take a peek you'll see that I definitely have my favorite combinations. Since they all have different names from studio to studio… and some things don't really even have names… I can't really click off the combos. Sorry!
Watch Dangerous's videos, I think she does beautiful floorwork. So does Alethea Austin (oh my). And there's a dancer who's on youtube as RhiannanNichole who, IMO, is positively mesmerizing on the floor. Check her out for inspiration!

Floorwork looks so easy yet, I am so unco-ordinated!!! hahahah will have a look for some inspiration 🙂
And Brumby.. my backward floor roll is getting better 🙂 🙂
