HI Veeners..would love your input and thoughts about a situation. So I have been sub renting this building a couple evenings a week I come in put my pole up on Tuesdays and take it down on Thursdays. The building is also rented out for parties and such on the weekends..its like a banquet hall of sort.So I get in there on Tuesday to set up and the floors are a wreck dirty sticky and what not. So I complain to the owner she apologizes and say she will get them cleaned etc..but my thing is if I had clients coming in that day I would have been so embarassed and livid because that space is representing me when I'm there and advertising for it.

It's just so fustrating coming in to others location and trying to make it yours for a couple of hours. So that leads to my next problem I really dont want to go out advertising and trying to drum up business for a location that I am not 100% happy with. Even though I know I have to start somewhere and build clients and get my name out there. Basically I just advertise that I teach classes there but I'm so torned because I want any association with my name and pole classes to be the best presentation possible. So what would you guys do?? stay and make the best or wait till I can afford my own space and save up??

Speaking from  the client/consumer point of view. Find another location. I love presentation and ambience, that is what sells me,or get me to inquire about something, now some woman may not care for that, but if your not happy, then it can put a dent overall atmosphere. You want to be happy where you are training. So I think you should find another location you are happy with and then advertise. : ) Presentation is everything

Thanks so much for your response..I have decided to forgo using that location until i can find a better fit for myself. You are so right about presentation being important especially with a service that already has such a stigma attached. So not only am I fighting the pole is REALLY fitness spill but also my location is in a less desirable area. So Im on the hunt for a better location. Thanks again.

Yeah I agree with the decision to leave. Is it possible to maybe find another location? Here’s an idea..if you can find another suitable space that’s still not perfect maybe offer class for a lesser price if that’s possible? I say that because I adore my instructor and love class time. My instructor is the perfect fit for me. If something happened to her studio, I would take class where ever I had to as long as she was teaching it.
