Just wanted to say hi. I am also new to pole dancing. Only since May. As far as which pole I'm not the best person to ask so I will let the experienced girls on here answer. Just wanted to welcome you to the site:)

hi ramblerchick! thank you! 🙂 what kind of pole do you have and do you like it??

I unfort don't have my own pole yet. I am in the process of trying to purchase one. So I just use what is at the bar, studio, or my friends Platinum Stage v3.0. I am trying to purchase the Platinum Stage Star Stand Alone since I live in an old house with no real way to attach pole to ceiling.

I have a TG xpert, they use tension on the ceiling and floor and you have to have a sturdy joist in the ceiling to make it stay, so I’m not sure that it would be alright in a mobile home. Your best bet would be to contact lil minx and xpole customer service 🙂

Yes, as suggested I would contact both companies…..and welcome to the site!!!!

thank you everyone for the replies!! i have contacted lil mynx and he said it will work fine! ordering next week, cant wait, gettn the pink rotator!! 😀 x pole never did get back to me 🙁 but i was interested in the titanium gold too.

ramblerchick- thanks for that idea!! i suppose if for some reason the regular pole doesnt work i could get a stage.

I personally have an x-pert but the pink lil mynx's are super cute! Maybe that will be my next one. Happy poling!

Queenie: i kno i am loving the color part! and hoping the powder coat finish will work well for me, ive read good things about it. i really wanted TG expert also but they are more expensive plus x pole never got back to me, i need a custom size for shorter ceilings. what finish expert do you have? thanks for your reply! 🙂

I have the chrome finish but its too slippery. Especially in the winter. Its not as bad in the summer but you have to be warm and the pole has to be warm to get a good grip. If I could do it over I probably would have gotten something different. Maybe powder coated or brass. I'm getting more into inverts and tricks and its really annoying!

The pink Lil Mynx was my first pole! I now have a 45 mm TG Xpert, and I am iiiin love. Although the powder-coated was great for beginning, I found it tough to work on when I started trying to do Superman. I kept tearing up my skin because of the grippiness.
With that said, the over-grippiness could have had something to do with my big, Hispanic thighs. 😉

queenie: i have heard that alot that ss and chrome are slippery in cold weather. heard brass has more grip and tg is kinda like brass. was wanting to try brass too but its expensive.
aerialmck: that sounds good then, powder coated for me because i am a beginner. ps love big thighs 😉 thick is sexy

Hey gals, I just wanted to post my 2 cents on the issue. I have been pole dancing for almost 2 years now and I have found that pole size matters more then pole finish. R Pole (out of the UK) has a great quote/article on their website ( http://www.r-polefitness.com/quotes.html ) explaining why it’s better to train on a smaller pole. I have a 50mm SS PS pole it is really grippy in the summer but in the winter I have to slather myself in a combo of grip aides to do even the simplest of moves. The studio I go to has 45mm SS poles and even in winter they are way easier to hold onto. If I were to buy another pole I would get a 38mm. The smaller the pole the easier they are to hold onto.
