    I've been stretching now 2 months, try to achieve the middle splits. I started from the absolute unflexible stage and now, after two months time I'm 22cm ( 9 inch) far from the ground. I know that 2 months it's not a time yet and I'm trying to be patient althoguh it's a slow and painful progress with not much visible result for long time. I'm just asking you girls, is that a good achievment where I'm at the moment or it's nothing at all? 🙂 I feellike I need some support and advices! 🙂

    just curious – did you measure how far from the ground you were when you started? what exactly is an "absolute unflexible stage"?

    it would be hard for anyone to say for sure where you're "supposed" to be since everyone's body is different and everyone goes about stretching in a different way.  there's really no way to compare because there are just so many factors.

    but i say, any improvement at all is worth it! 😀 it is definitely a slow and painful process, so congrats on your progress and good luck with your splits!

    9" might seem like a long way, but you're doing great, I can assure you 🙂

    I'm nearly at front splits, but my middles are dreadfully far behind.  I got to 14" or so after quite a while of stretching (as in, a year of doing it occasionally.  I suck at commitment… lol), though admittedly more for fronts, so improvement was a bit incidental.  I don't tend to bother measuring much, since it's just dreadful anyway, hehe.  Doesn't look like a split, basically 🙂

    What I'm saying is, you're doing better than me 😀

    As long as you're getting closer to the goal, then you're doing something right!  Keep going and you'll get there.

    hi Tballerina, it sounds like you are doing great.  2 months isn't very long (though it probably feels that way)!   i haven't even tried middle splits yet. actually, just by checking now, it looks like i'm about 18" away 🙁

    Hi girls! Thank you for all your answers and your kind support! 🙂 It was the first time when I mesured the distance, I really wanted to know how far I'm. I got the idea from Tarah :))  When I started I've been away about 15"-18"…I feel great, because 9" isn't very far away now, but still lots of work needs to be done. I just read about  that, as soon as I get closer more stagnation appears for a while…Does anybody experienced it during stretching splits?
