More free music – 250 songs from 250 bands!
My company is doing a contest with popchips–50 up and coming artists from four cities around the US each provided a track for free download. Each download counts as a vote for that artist, and the top four get a prize and the chance to play in Austin, TX at SXSW on the SPIN stage–it's a pretty big deal for artists.
But the important part is 250 free downloads from bands that pretty much no one has heard of.

They're all handpicked, so most of the tracks are actually pretty good. It's a mix of pop, rock, hip hop, alt, country…maybe some others tossed in there.
Point is–if you use one of these, the chances someone else has your song at a competition is pretty much 0. 😉
